Helping the body reset and restore, acupuncture has been used for centuries to support health and vitality and is backed by modern science. Research has found that acupuncture stimulates the nervous system triggering the release of neurotransmitters (such as the likes of endorphins, serotonin, and dopamine), as well as modulating pain perception, reducing inflammation, and promoting autonomic regulation through interactions with the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis and the vagus nerve. In other words acupuncture regulates all of our physiological functions, keeping everything in your body balanced and working properly

Cupping therapy works by creating suction on the skin which gently lifts the underlying tissues. This suction increases blood flow, promotes lymphatic drainage, reduces muscle tension, and encourages the release of toxins from tissues. The negative pressure stimulates circulation, helping to relieve pain, reduce inflammation, and support the body's natural healing processes. It also speeds up recovery from colds and flus! One of my favourite teaches once taught me “the only time you need cupping, is when you’ve just had cupping”!

Gua sha works by using a smooth-edged tool to scrape the skin in long or short strokes, applying pressure to stimulate circulation, break up fascial adhesions, and promote lymphatic drainage. This technique increases blood flow to the area, reduces muscle tension, and triggers an anti-inflammatory response, helping to relieve pain, improve mobility, and support the body's natural healing processes.

Moxibustion is a traditional Chinese medicine therapy that involves burning dried mugwort (moxa) near or on specific acupuncture points to generate heat, stimulate circulation, and promote the smooth flow of qi and blood. The warmth from moxa penetrates deep into tissues, helping to relieve pain, strengthen immunity, improve digestion, and support reproductive and hormonal health by influencing the body's regulatory systems.

Chinese herbal medicine is a key component of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) that uses plant, mineral, and sometimes animal-derived substances to restore balance and support the body's natural healing processes. Formulas are carefully tailored to an individual's condition based on TCM diagnostics, working to regulate qi, blood, yin, and yang, address underlying imbalances, and treat a wide range of health concerns, including digestive issues, hormonal imbalances, skin conditions, and immune support.

The integrative use of high-quality supplements with Chinese medicine combines the wisdom of traditional herbal formulations with targeted nutritional support to enhance healing and overall well-being. While Chinese herbal medicine works holistically to restore balance by regulating qi, blood, yin, and yang, supplements such as vitamins, minerals, probiotics, and adaptogens can provide specific nutrients that support physiological functions, address deficiencies, and optimise treatment outcomes. This approach is particularly effective in areas like digestive health, hormonal regulation, immune function, and skin health, where a combination of TCM and evidence-based supplementation can work synergistically for more comprehensive and personalised care.
